Function of HATESL

Hawai'i Association of Teachers of English as a Second Language (HATESL) is a student organization within the Department of Second Language Studies (SLS), at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa.

Its main purpose is to promote professional and social interaction between its members and the SLS faculty, with particular emphasis on SLS as it affects and is affected by students in the department. Through HATESL, SLS students can provide constructive input into how the department is run and can positively impact the SLS profession both locally and globally.
