The Second Language Teaching & Curriculum Center (SLTCC) was established in 1988 with the broad mission of improving language instruction and facilitating cooperative efforts among departments in the College of Languages, Linguistics and Literature at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. The principal functions of the SLTCC are:

Since 1990 the SLTCC has also been home of the UH National Foreign Language Resource Center, one of the US Department of Education's national Language Resource Centers (LRC).

In 2002 the SLTCC became a unit within the Language Learning Center at UH Manoa.
