Call for Abstract Readers

Aloha, College of LLL Graduate Students!

The 22nd Annual Languages, Linguistics & Literature (LLL) Graduate Student Conference Committee is seeking volunteers to help assess abstract submissions. The conference will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Hawai‘i Imin International Conference Center.

Volunteers are needed from every department in the College of LLL. As an abstract reader, you will receive abstracts particular to your area of study. Each abstract will go through a blind review process where two readers evaluate and provide separate feedback, which will then be sent to the author. Abstract reviewers will be provided with an evaluation rubric to guide the review.

The review process offers valuable professional experience for graduate students. No prior experience is required to participate in this abstract evaluation process, and those who wish to submit an abstract to the LLL conference may still be readers.

Abstract readers are a vital component to ensuring the quality of student presentations at the conference.

If you are interested in volunteering, please RSVP by following the link on this email by Monday, February 19, 2018. The evaluations will begin the week of March 5, 2018. We look forward to working with you!
