The College of Languages, Linguistics & Literature is one of the four Arts & Sciences colleges of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. LLL (as it is popularly called) offers a broad curriculum in English studies, foreign and heritage languages, second language acquisition, and linguistics. Composed of six departments and several programs and centers, LLL has capitalized on Hawaiʻi’s location in the Pacific to provide, in addition to traditional fields of study, curricula with a focus on Asia and the Pacific unique in the nation.
The annual student conference has been a part of the LLL College’s history since 1996. It is an opportunity for graduate students to share their work with fellow students and faculty and obtain conference presentation experience in a friendly environment. Selected papers are published in the conference proceedings, thus enriching the students’ academic experience through publication.
